Adventure of the Traveling Wiener

Happy Friday Everyone!!!!

This has been such a beautiful week here on the Central Coast of California!  We had record highs earlier this week, and now it is cooling down but it is still in the 70's which is PERFECT beach weather.  Today Chris and I decided to take Jixer to Morro Bay, so we could eat a good lunch and walk around Embarcadero (the street on the water front).

He loves to watch the birds before he runs through the flock!

Here he is in front of Morro Rock.  He did not care too much about the rock and mostly just wanted to get the birds and play in the water.  But he did stop long enough for Chris to snap this picture.

Jixer always looks so cute during candid shots!

Christopher took this photo of Jixer and me; you can see a little piece of Morro Rock and all three smoke stacks (famous landmark in Morro Bay)

He liked watching the boats come in and out of the bay.

Here I am with my cute little boy!  Enjoying the view of the ocean behind us and Morro Rock in front of us.

The two most handsome boys in the world!!!  Jixer loves his daddy!

Morro Bay is definitely worth a visit!  There is awesome food and great candy...especially the salt water taffy!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!

Tea Time

Hello All!

I know that I am a day late again...sorry about that!  I got caught up in the weekend because Christopher is finally home!  It is great not only to have him back in the United States, but also in California again (it has been two years since he moved out of CA).

So, that is my excuse...Christopher is home and we were able to enjoy the beach together again!

It is so nice to have our family together again!

My boys :)

Jixer likes roasted seaweed, but the raw seaweed must taste funny.

And even though it is Tuesday, here is your Yogi Tea wisdom for the week.

I hope you all have a fabulous week!

Adventures of the Traveling Wiener

Jixer is out and about again, and he is having fun exploring a new beach.

Sunday, my friend Kaley and I decided it would be a great beach day and of course Jixer came along.  It was a beautiful day and everybody else decided to go to the beach too!  Avila Beach was jammed packed with people (tourists), so we decided to venture over to Shell Beach.  It had been a long time since I walked on Shell Beach, and the last time I was there, it was at night to do some night exposures.

It is a great beach!  The only thing that is different is that there is no sand, so it is a little rough on bare feet.

Shell Beach is the only beach of its kind in our area.

Jixer had a great time playing in the waves...and running from them!

He put his nose down and sniffed in every crevice.

He was covered in the tiny pebbles by the days end.

I just imagine him thinking "Girls, PLEASE! I know I am cute but can the photo shoot be over already!"

Kaley and I were both snapping pictures of little Jixer!

There were several pelicans out catching their dinner, and Jixer enjoyed watching them fly around and diving into the water.

I am pretty sure this Montana born dog is a true beach bum at heart!

Adventures of the Traveling Wiener

Avila Beach, CA

This post is a couple of weeks late, but it is still worth sharing.  Jixer and I did a road trip to California to visit my family over spring break.

Taking a little snooze during our two day drive to California.

It was awesome going back home and being able to go the beach again!  Jixer enjoyed playing with all of the doggies and splashing around in the water.  He did pretty well off of the leash, and I only had to pick him up a couple of times when he started following other dogs around.

We went to a strip of beach that you can have your dog off of the leash.  It is just outside of Avila Beach.

He wasn't too sure of the water at first, and just sniffed around the beach.

Eventually, he went into the water and splashed around a bit.

He was following his big brother Max around.  Max didn't care too much.

The two big doggies, Jake and Max, had a blast playing fetch.  Luckily, my dad has two ball throwers to keep them both happy!

We even found a starfish!  Unfortunately, it was no longer alive and the waves washed it up on the beach.

After a bath and blow dry, Jixer was ready to take a nap in the sun.

Tune in next time for the "Adventures of the Traveling Wiener".
